Happenings...

On this beautiful Sunday afternoon (as I can see from the break room window), I'm inside processing pharmacy orders for the sick patients that I have the privilege of supplying medications for...(aka I'm at work). Yesterday I did have the joy of being able to get home in time to work in the yard with Alex. We've decided to pull up the horrible Vinca-vine that the previous owners obviously thought was a great filler for the flower bed. Ever since we moved in last summer, I've complained about how much I hate that vine! It looks like weeds growing all over the front of our house. Pulling up the Vinca is the first step in "spring-i-fying" our yard! By the way, I LOVE SPRING! It must be the most beautiful time of year. So, after the vine is all pulled we'll then plant some flowers/bushes/monkey grass and finally apply a great covering of mulch! Can't wait for that fresh smell in the yard!

Alex is so great about keeping our yard looking good and freshly mowed, but I discovered yesterday that flower-bed work is not his lifelong passion. I, on the other hand, really enjoy making the bed look pretty and increasing the "curb appeal" of our house. I also discovered the other day that I think it's not just the "curb" appeal, but home-improvement/decorating in general consumes much of my time and money since becoming a home owner last July! Gosh, I feel like our walls will never have pictures or a different color paint on them.

Other than spring cleaning/home improvements such as above, we have done some traveling in the last week. We visited some of Alex's best friends from dental school, Courtney and Justin Sikes, in Cortez, CO. We also took my brother along with us, which was so much fun since he is the true outdoors man amongst us. While away, we snow skied in Telluride, CO and hiked/did some sightseeing in Moab, UT. Both places were absolutely beautiful! It was great to spend some time in God's great creation out West! More pictures to come from that adventure...
