However you choose to spend one of the most over-rated holidays ever, may it be with the ones you love most! For us, we haven't spent a Valentine's Day together yet...
2006- Our first year dating (which come V-day had only been for 5 months), I had bought tickets to the Bon Jovi concert in Nashville with girlfriends. Now, remember when I bought these tickets we had been dating for barely a month. Breaking that to Alex mid-January that year was loads of fun.
2007- Then our 2nd year dating (just engaged), Alex scheduled his job interview for Dr. Huffines office on Valentines day in Nashville without even realizing what day it was. So...I rode home with him, then we had dinner with my parents and drove back to Birmingham in a day! To top that one off, I got a speeding ticket driving back to Bham as I was trying to "be sweet" helping Alex drive. I'm still ticked off about that ticket.
2008- Then last year, our first year married, thought I might be in good and actually spend it with him. I had just started working at the Green Hills Kroger, and of course I was scheduled to work that night. So, we had a small nice dinner at home once I got off at 9pm.
2009- We are headed to our Sunday School Couples Party tomorrow night, complete with home cooking! What more could we ask for! ;) Actually, we celebrated last weekend by spending at night at the Hermitage Hotel downtown Nashville where we spent our first night married. What a relaxing place when you're there for more than 7 hours (as our flight left at 6am for our honeymoon when we first stayed there)!!
So, enough about our Valentines adventures! May yours be lovely wherever you choose to spend it!
