Well, I can't attribute my great weekend to the social guidance of the Tennessean. Although, I guess we could have found the movie times in there, but... I do believe we saw the best movie ever this weekend. If you haven't seen "Slumdog Millionaire", go see it NOW! It was such an enjoyable 2 hour movie! If you don't know much about it, it's an Indian film that depicts a young Indian boy, Jamal, who gets on the Indian version of "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire." Can't say much more or it will totally give the entire movie away! GO SEE IT! I can't wait to see what other awards it wins after receiving the Screen Actors Guild Award last night for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL movie! It makes you really appreciate those you love dearly. Enough about the movie, but as you can see we think it's great!
Well, I promised Alex that this blog would not be about every detail of our day-to-day life and become boring quickly, but rather a glimpse of the things and people that we care about most. Our church and growing in a deeper relationship with Christ is one the most important things to us. As I took a minute to sit down last night and collect my thoughts before heading to bed, I reflected on our Sunday School lesson from that morning. We're going through the book of Job, and studying about how faithful Job was. I found it so interesting as I went back over the first book of Job how complimentary God was of him as a man. He (God) told Satan, "There is no one on earth like him (Job); he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil." (vs8). It's also interesting to watch Job's entire life disappear before him and to hear him say after all of it, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart, The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised (vs21)." He continues to praise the Lord through difficult circumstances. Even as I write this, I am reminded that the Lord begs the same from us. That we would continue to praise Him in the midst of the good times and the bad.
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:14
What wonderful thoughts to reflect on! Thanks for sharing them! Hair toss.
